5 Important Etiquettes in the Yoga Studio ♡

 Yoga is a journey and I learn something new every time I practice. I have been practicing yoga for about three years and am also a certified yoga instructor.  This summer I have had the great privilege of working at a studio in my hometown.  There are many important etiquettes in the studio but I wanted to point out 5 important points that I truly believe are vital in helping you and others in having a great experience in the studio.

1. Keep quiet in the yoga room- The second  an individual steps into a yoga room is when their practice begins.  You can use this time laying in savasana to meditate and even set your intentions for your class. Think about what you want to focus and improve on in your class whether it’s focusing on your alignment, balance, or breath. Keeping quiet is important to others that are embracing the quiet space. Even if you do not meditate or do not like keeping quiet please respect the yogis around you by doing so.

2. Respect the instructor- Remember yoga instructors are human. Sometimes people tend to forget that an instructor might make a mistake during a class and thats okay!! They are also on a learning journey. Embrace the perfections and imperfections of the class. Always remember to thank them at the end of your class. Instructors are there to help you on your yoga journey so if you have any questions never feel afraid to ask! Instructors love your encouragement and constructive criticism in a kind manner.

3. Clean up after yourself- Although you are there to focus on your practice make sure to always respect the studio by cleaning up after yourself. We want to keep the yoga studio clean to respect our yogi friends, instructors, and ourselves. We also wouldn’t want to attend a dirty studio so  remember to pick up after yourself.

4. Be Kind & Grateful To Others- Many times I notice that we tend to compare our level of practice to others. Which is normal to do but can turn into something very unhealthy. It can also hinder your growth in your practice. Different people have several reasons on why they  do yoga wether it is for fitness, spiritual, or health reasons.  Always respect where others are in their practice and where you are in your practice as well. Remember yoga is not a competition it is an individual  journey. Being able to practice yoga with others is a great way to grow and celebrate where each and every individual is in their practice.

5. Be Kind & Grateful To Yourself- Most importantly be kind to yourself. Embrace where you are in your practice. Try to listen to your body and  accept where your strengths and weaknesses are. Love who you are and enjoy your yoga journey. Yoga is a practice so don’t be too hard on yourself but also try to find your edge in your practice. Always listen, look for improvement, and respect your well being.

Buddha’s Brew Kombucha ♡

People think that being healthy means you have to make yourself eat and drink things that are not as tasty but that is definitely far from the truth. I know I used to think that way but  have explored and found products & recipes that are far better in taste and are doing great benefits for my health. Sweet Green ♡

I am so lucky to have one of my favorite restaurants  near by me.  Sweet Green is a place that serves local and organic ingredients from local farmers.

I ordered the Harvest Bowl which had organic wild rice + shredded kale, apples, sweet potatoes, toasted almonds, local goat cheese, roasted chicken, balsamic vinaigrette with some tasty natural  lemonade!

They  have soups, grain bowls, and  salads!

Look they even show you what and where some of the ingredients are from! (as you can see most are from local farms)

Something that I love about Sweet Green  is that they make certain meals  based  on the season we are in. Obviously because certain vegetables taste better when they are in season.

Since finals is going on it is important to feed your body with healthy nutrients to help keep your body moving, sooo I definitely recommend going to this place especially during this time of the year!

My favorite coconut water ♡

There are many different brands of coconut water that I have tried but C2O is by far my favorite brand of coconut water. It is the most natural and refreshing beverage that I have tasted. C2O is 100% natural, fat free, unsweetened, and contains a whole load of potassium!

The Juicery @ The North End ♡

I go to the North End (Little Italy) often and I always pass by this really cute Juice shop so I decided to give it a try 🙂

I liked that they had so much variety on their menu from Juices to Smoothies to Acai Bowls

I tried the smoothie called “Woah Nellie”  which had banana, strawberry, raspberry, yogurt, coconut, apple juice and almond milk

MMMM, right?!

It was delicious, as a lover of all fruits… I love that they added so many fruits to this drink

My Favorite Cold Pressed Juice ♡

it’s usually so hard to find healthy juices that taste good, but this tastes great

I know you might see the word kale or celery and be like “ewww” but please  trust me it’s good

. I actually try to drink this every morning so that I start my day with healthy nutrients

guys its sooo good…. I recommend it 😉

Suja 3 Day Juice Cleanse ♡

Processed with VSCOcam with t1 preset I’ve always wanted to try a Juice Cleanse and I finally started one today!!!!! 🙂

I can honestly say, it is a lot harder than I was expecting it to be…lol but I do already feel a difference in my body. I notice that when I eat clean (meaning: fruits & vegetables only)  my body feels energized and almost hyper in a way. So adding juices to that mix makes me feel great!

Things you should do during your cleanse:

  • drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day
  • drink your juices as instructed
  • take it easy

    Many experienced juice cleansers and maybe most people don’t really eat during a juice cleanse but I know my body and know that I need food throughout the day so I am eating small portions of light raw foods (salads, fruits, and nuts)

    My biggest advice is to listen to your body and make sure you are taking care of it. Don’t starve yourself or make your body suffer during a cleanse (even if you are not doing a cleanse), remember you are always wanting to do your body a favor by taking care  of it!
