Europe Trip ♡

My parents decided it would be a great idea to go on a two week Euro trip with both my grandmas to Italy, Prague, Vienna and Germany. We had such an amazing time. This trip is definitely one I will remember forever. Seeing my grandmas communicating and traveling together with us was one of the best experiences. My grandma Nonna is Italian and my grandma Obaachan is Japanese. Somehow my grandmas get along and communicate with each other so well. I wish this was all filmed so you guys could see how funny and amazing the way they communicate is.  Here are a few photos from the trip. ♡

Reggio Calabria, Italy ♡

My Nonna lives in Reggio Calabria, Italy so we began our trip from there. On our first day we went to my favorite beach in the world, which I have blogged about before called Baia Di Riaci, which is located in Taormina, Italy (an hour away from Reggio Calabria).

69006977_2484619918491287_6613442736039133184_nIf you ever go to Italy you have to try the latte di mandorla (almond milk) it is sweet and delicious. It tastes differently from the almond milk here in the States.  One of my all time favorites and I always get it when I am in Italy.

68559668_361575181430870_3126064016221274112_n.jpgWe went out to eat pizza. Guys this was the one of the best pizzas i’ve ever had in my life!!! Mozzarella con latte di Bufala, Caciocavallo Silano DOP, smoked Scamorza and Gorgonzola.

68866985_379255723007072_5661901617897668608_n (1).jpgWe spent a day with family at my uncle’s beach house. My grandma cooked so much for us. I forgot to take a photo 😥 she made parmigiana, lamb, salad, cheese and pasta.

We later went to see an Opera/Ballet, since Vienna was home to many famous composers like Beethoven, Brahms, Strauss, Mozart and many more. We thought it would be appropriate to go see a show.

Living Proof Boston Blogger Event Party ♡

IMG_1892

I had the privilege to go to my very first blogger event!! It was for a hair product company called Living Proof. I’ve always heard great things about this company but never really had the opportunity to try the product myself. Fun Fact: Jennifer Aniston is the spokesperson and co owner of the company (so cool right?!)

IMG_1857

Living Proof really stands out from other companies because it was created by a group of scientists that really want to help share and “challenge conventional wisdom to solve the toughest beauty problems.” They do that by using science to help solve the toughest beauty problems.

IMG_1866

The purpose of this event was to introduce the new dry shampoo that they just launched recently.

IMG_1862

I got to try the product myself and can honestly say that it is the best dry shampoo i’ve ever used. I am a huge dry shampoo fan and have used tons of different dry shampoos. Many of them leave a white residue, a weird consistency in your hair,  but this living proof product not only leaves your hair smelling fresh, but soft, and clean looking! (without the white residue) Isn’t that amazing?!

You can purchase the dry shampoo on their website here- http://www.livingproof.com/buy/perfecthairday-dry-shampoo

Here are some pictures from the event- I had such a great time!!

5 Important Etiquettes in the Yoga Studio ♡

Screen shot 2015-06-23 at 10.44.05 AM

Yoga is a journey and I learn something new every time I practice. I have been practicing yoga for about three years and am also a certified yoga instructor.  This summer I have had the great privilege of working at a studio in my hometown.  There are many important etiquettes in the studio but I wanted to point out 5 important points that I truly believe are vital in helping you and others in having a great experience in the studio.

1. Keep quiet in the yoga room- The second  an individual steps into a yoga room is when their practice begins.  You can use this time laying in savasana to meditate and even set your intentions for your class. Think about what you want to focus and improve on in your class whether it’s focusing on your alignment, balance, or breath. Keeping quiet is important to others that are embracing the quiet space. Even if you do not meditate or do not like keeping quiet please respect the yogis around you by doing so.

2. Respect the instructor- Remember yoga instructors are human. Sometimes people tend to forget that an instructor might make a mistake during a class and thats okay!! They are also on a learning journey. Embrace the perfections and imperfections of the class. Always remember to thank them at the end of your class. Instructors are there to help you on your yoga journey so if you have any questions never feel afraid to ask! Instructors love your encouragement and constructive criticism in a kind manner.

3. Clean up after yourself- Although you are there to focus on your practice make sure to always respect the studio by cleaning up after yourself. We want to keep the yoga studio clean to respect our yogi friends, instructors, and ourselves. We also wouldn’t want to attend a dirty studio so  remember to pick up after yourself.

4. Be Kind & Grateful To Others- Many times I notice that we tend to compare our level of practice to others. Which is normal to do but can turn into something very unhealthy. It can also hinder your growth in your practice. Different people have several reasons on why they  do yoga wether it is for fitness, spiritual, or health reasons.  Always respect where others are in their practice and where you are in your practice as well. Remember yoga is not a competition it is an individual  journey. Being able to practice yoga with others is a great way to grow and celebrate where each and every individual is in their practice.

“Have only love in your heart for others. The more you see the good in them, the more you will establish good in yourself.” -Paramahansa Yogananda

5. Be Kind & Grateful To Yourself- Most importantly be kind to yourself. Embrace where you are in your practice. Try to listen to your body and  accept where your strengths and weaknesses are. Love who you are and enjoy your yoga journey. Yoga is a practice so don’t be too hard on yourself but also try to find your edge in your practice. Always listen, look for improvement, and respect your well being.

“The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”  –T.K.V. Desikachar

Lets continue on our yogi journey! As the yoga studio I attend always says-

The light in me honors the light in you”

Lets honor the light in ourselves and others today.

What are some yoga etiquettes you feel are important to point out in the yoga studio?

I would love to hear from you.

12 travel necessities ♡

12tn

Hey Guys 🙂 guess who is in Florida this week for Spring Break?!? yes, me!!!! While I was on the airplane traveling today I was thinking about how I bring so many things on the airplane. I decided to make a list of my traveling essentials.

1. Water– water is so important when you’re traveling for various reasons. The air in the plane can tend to make you feel really dry. Water helps hydrate not only the inside of your body but it helps hydrate your skin as well. Traveling for long hours can cause fatigue in your body but drinking water can help eliminate fatigue. Drinking water on the airplane can also help you stop feeling nauseous for those of you who tend to feel nauseous on airplanes. I would recommend buying a big water bottle before boarding on to your flight.

2. Chapstick- Due to the air being so dry in the airplane, I like to bring chapstick with me to help keep my lips hydrated and moist throughout my flight.

3. Headphones- Sitting on an airplane inches away from strangers can be a little strange at times. It’s nice to carry headphones with you so you can go into your own little world wether its to watch a movie or listen to music.

4. Hand Lotion- I like to bring lotion on the plane with me because my hands to get really dry. In my opinion applying lotion to my skin makes me feel refreshed and smelling clean.

5. Book/Magazine- Depending on where you’re going flights can feel awfully long. A great way to lose track of time is to bring a novel you like and just enjoy going into a new world with what you’re reading.

6. Fruits & Nuts- People know me as the girl who carries fruits with me wherever I go and that definitely does not stop when I travel.  I don’t know about you but I get hungry at random times while traveling and I don’t necessarily love airplane food so I like to bring some fruits and nuts in my bag.

7. Camera- Traveling around the world can create lots of memories that you want to remember forever.I love capturing those moments through photos and looking back at sweet memories.

8. Notebook- I like to bring a notebook with me when I travel why because I  really inspired to write when I travel. I get so moved by the people I meet and the new cultures that I get to experience.

9. Gum-  Carrying a pack of gum or mints is an essential while traveling, due to just feeling groggy and gross when you travel sometimes it is nice to feel refreshed with some minty gum.

10. Cardigan/sweater- It can get really cold on airplanes and I get cold very easily and so I always bring an extra cardigan or sweater with me when I travel.

11. Ipod-  I actually like to make playlists when I travel or just focus on a certain artist and listen to them on repeat over and over again. Many songs that I listen to remind me of certain places I have travelled to because I had listened to that specific song at the time I visited the certain place.

12. Makeup Bag- I carry a small makeup pouch with me and I also put my toothbrush in this bag as well. I remember wise words from a lady that I know who is a pilot telling me (while she was putting lipstick on) “You never know who’s watching” that is very true. Now that doesn’t mean I get all dolled up but I like to touch up my face here and there with all the drools and naps that I take on planes haha (not really. but really 😉 )

What are some of your travel necessities?
