Baia di Riaci- Tropea, Italia ♡

IMG_0839

I have been relaxing in Reggio Calabria which is where my family lives (south of Italy, where the tip of the boot is). When we go to Reggio Calabria we go to the beach every single day! This time we went to Baia di Riaci which is by far my favorite beach in near Reggio.

Look how beautiful the water looks.

IMG_0897

We rented a boat and went into the little caves- I couldn’t take pictures because I don’t have a waterproof case… I know I know, I will buy one soon!

IMG_0850

I love the ocean so much…the water is so beautiful.

Center of Quito ♡

IMG_0205

I got to visit the center of Quito!

IMG_0206

This is where the president of Ecuador lives ^^

IMG_0209

There is so much history located in one place.

We were able to visit two of many churches located in that area.

IMG_0207

My favorite was a church called Iglesia De La Compania which is a  church made out of gold. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take pictures of  it… but let me tell you! It was so breathtaking to see. I have visited many catholic churches in Europe but it was so interesting to see the characteristic of a South American church.

IMG_0211

We ate at this lovely restaurant called Disolopay! I was able to try traditional ecuadorian food.

In the photo above the food we ate was yuca with honey for appetizers

IMG_0213

Ceviche with shrimp…. mmmmm it was amazing!!!

IMG_0214

Chorizo, huevos!!

IMG_0215

Mote, Maduro, Chicharron, Llapingacho and more!!

As you can see we ordered a lot of food!

It was delicious!!

IMG_0216

We also had canelazo which is a traditional warm alcoholic beverage.,, it was amazing!!

IMG_0203

I had a beautiful time, I love you QUITOOOOO

Otavalo Market ♡

IMG_0224

During my visit in Ecuador I had the privilege of visiting a town called Otavalo.  Most of the people that live in Otavalo  are the indigenous people of Ecuador. In this province there is a market that the indigenous Otavaleños sell there handmade products.

IMG_0222

Everything sold in this market is handmade. It was so beautiful to see the detail and hard work they put into every product.

IMG_0219

Seeing the indigenous people was very beautiful and so interesting to me.

IMG_0226

This mask has many meanings to it… the top 12 little figures sticking out of the head represents the months in the year. The front part of the mask represents day and the back represents night!

Otavaleños are so creative!!

IMG_0228

Visiting the Otavalo Market is something that I will never ever forget in my life. I saw many things that I have never seen before. From the indigenous people to the beautiful art that was sold in the market.

Lunch in Puertolago ♡

IMG_0236

My silly boyfriend took me to this amazing restaurant in an inn called Puertolago.

Puertolago is located in Otavalo.

IMG_0235

We had empanada de verde as an appetizer.

Which was amazing the cheese inside the empanada was amazing!

IMG_0239

We had fish for lunch! My dish was the plate above ^^ it was a type of fish and inside there were fruits of the sea inside. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water!

IMG_0240

Look how cute everything was presented!

It reminds me of my the way my mom used to pack my lunch in montessori school haha!

IMG_0243

ANDD ofcourse we had dessert! This type of ice cream we had is called helado de paila.

Which is ice cream made from a pan.

IMG_0234

The view from the restaurant was beautiful!

IMG_0259

Yes we did try to take selfies in front of the mountain but it didn’t really work! haha

Thank you for the yummy food Puertolago!

The Middle of The Earth ♡

IMG_0197

I had the opportunity to visit the center of the earth! Did you know that Ecuador is called Ecuador because that is where the equator is located?

IMG_0198

The yellow line divides the north and south… so we stepped foot in different side of the earth in the same picture!! So interesting right?!

IMG_0200

We also got to see my boyfriend’s great great great grandfather’s statue in the museum!

IMG_0196

It’s so cool to be able to say that I have been in the middle of the earth!

I am visiting my boyfriend in ECUADOR!!! He is from Quito, Ecuador…. oolala so latin. Over the weekend we were able to go to a tropical rainforest. Which was so exciting for me because I have never been to a tropical rainforest before.

We stayed in this cabin for one night and two days… the cabin did not have electricity which made things much more interesting and adventurous.

Look at the view from the cabin… isn’t  it so beautiful?

IMG_0125

On the first day we went on a hike and I got to see many different trees and bugs that I have never seen before. I felt like I was able to see  Bug’s Life in real life!

IMG_0117

IMG_0076

The next day we were able to hike and  visit a few gorgeous waterfalls.

IMG_0116

The water was so cold but I had the courage to swim a little in the water. Which was so much fun and a new experience for me.

IMG_0101

The waterfalls were breathtaking.
