Jamaica ♡

Long time no post 🙂 I know I am a bit late but I wanted to share with you guys a couple photos from my trip to Jamaica. I had the blessing of going on a family vacation for Christmas. We stayed in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The water was so beautiful and warm!

The first night I tried Ackee and Codfish (sorry for the blurry photo). This is a traditional Jamaican dish. Ackee is actually a type of fruit but has the consistency of scrambled eggs. It was very interesting!

We went to Seven Mile Beach which is located in Negril, Jamaica! We fell in love with this place. If you are looking to visit Jamaica I suggest going to Negril. The beach there was absolutely beautiful.

We spent the day at Seven Mile beach and when this man arrived people were swarming around him. He was selling Jamaican patties.

IMG_9013.jpg

Let me tell youuu. They were delicious. We tried four different patties beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetarian. The shrimp patty was my favorite.

Later that day we visited a beautiful underwater cave that used to be a club.

One of my favorite parts was having breakfast with my family with this wonderful view.

We had the privilege of visiting the Bob Marley Museum (there are two in Jamaica, One in Kingston and one in Nine Mile). We went to the one in Nine Mile which is where Bob Marley was born and where his tomb lays today.

The museum was a bit far from everything but it was worth going to.

I don’t want to include too many photos from the museum because I don’t want to give too much of it away (even though I did share a few photos on my Instagram). It was such an inspiring place to go to! This was the view from his house.

Later that day we went to Dunn’s River Falls and it was very interesting! We climbed through the falls which seemed like a very dangerous experience haha. My brother definitely enjoyed it!

Jamaica was such a wonderful place! The people there were so kind and friendly. It is a bit expensive to go around. We did hire a private driver, his name was Jarrett and he gave us great deals. If you would like his information please let me know 🙂

I had such a blast listening to reggae music everyday and hearing such kind people saying “no problem” every five seconds. It was my kind of place. I loved it so much.

Thankful that I got to spend some quality time with family in such a beautiful place like Jamaica. Can’t wait to go again sometime soon ♡

On the way back from Austin, I had the opportunity to go to the very famous and popular Magnolia Market located in Waco!

For those of you who have never heard of Magnolia, it is a warehouse market owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines. They are also known for the show “Fixer Upper” on HGTV. You may have also seen some Magnolia products at Target.

I was excited to go because I have heard so much about this market!

66199884_2309414115818521_8681056635331805184_n (1).jpgMagnolia Market is a huge warehouse which includes lifestyle goods and home decor. Some people may not know this but I love interior decorating 😀

66721837_466736587418952_8060228265270312960_nThis whole warehouse was adorable!

66221685_387682065211592_2523175737440075776_nOne of my favorite things about the whole market was not just the decoration but the Wall Decor. I love the little encouraging messages.

66266106_365645864147221_5251398307422404608_nLook how cute!!

66440075_351776352174026_968419240103116800_nThey were all Magnolia themed. Very cute 🙂

66701308_460316174790882_4599857549645185024_nIt was so cute to see families and children playing outdoors here.

66090208_889454854722238_7964388685695156224_n.jpgThis was the Magnolia Bakery, I didn’t get to inside because the line was too long 😥 but next time I go I will definitely make time to try some of the food trucks and baked goods there 🙂

66021006_1065223200333829_5799294426241040384_nHappy I got to go check out the very famous Magnolia Market! If you ever happen to be in Waco, Texas I recommend you go check it out.

Japanese Cake Recipe ♡

12528666_1087678254621705_1253710452_o

My blog Cultura Giusta turned One January 9th!! So I thought I would share a family cake recipe with everyone to celebrate… wooo yum yum

This is a traditional family recipe from my mom’s side so I guess you can say it is a little Japanese influenced. This cake is very light and not too sugary! It is delicious!!!

So keep reading if you would like the recipe!

Things you will need-

Eggs (4)

Flour (100g)

Sugar (120g) & (3 tbsp)

Vanilla Extract (1 tbsp)

Milk (1 tbsp)

Raspberry Jam (Around 3 tbsp)

Heavy Whipped Cream (8 oz)

First Step- Crack four eggs into a bowl, mix with 1/3  out of the 120g of sugar (do this three times until the sugar is finished). Mix until the eggs and sugar turns thick and into a  light yellow/almost white color.

Second Step- Pour 1tbsp of vanilla extract into the bowl.

Third Step- Pour flour into the same bowl using a sifter. Then mix with a silicone head spatula until all the flour is mixed in!

Fourth Step- pour into two pans round pans evenly. Set Oven 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 10-15 minutes until the middle of the cake is dry.

Fifth Step- While you are waiting for the sponge of the cake to bake you can start preparing the whipped cream. Pour 8 oz of whipped cream in a bowl and 3 tbsp of sugar. Mix until the heavy whipped cream become fluffy and turns into whipped cream.

Sixth Step- Next when the Sponge of cake is ready take them out of them pan and spread whipped cream all over one of the sponges then in between spread the raspberry jam inside. We usually do not measure this part but we estimated it to be around 3tbsp… You can add however much you’d like!

Seventh Step- Stack the two sponge cakes together and whipped cream all over using a silicon head spatula! Sprinkle some fruits this time I decided to add blueberries only but you can also put strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, whatever you’d like!!

TA-DA and the cake is ready! Enjoy!

With so much love,
