Tulum is a city where you bike everywhere! We biked everyday to get to the beach for the first few days.

My family and I went to this town called Bacalar which is three hours away from Tulum by bus. Bacalar is a lagoon connected to the ocean, this water isn’t salt water! Doesn’t it look like the ocean?

After we swam, we walked around the town. This town had such a calm presence to it, we felt so relaxed here.

My day in NYC ♡

IMG_1256

I arrived to NYC last night and have had a wonderful day in the big apple so far.

IMG_1285I finally got to go to the Butcher’s Daughter! A juice bar/ cafe that I have been wanting to go to for a while now…..mmm doesn’t the food look amazing?!

The Butcher’s Daughter is strictly vegetarian and non dairy.

Most of their items are vegan and gluten free!

IMG_1281My brother and I enjoying the delicious juices from the Butcher’s Daughter. I got the waterflower juice and my brother Andre got the yellow juice.

IMG_1298

We later went to Dominque Ansel Bakery where I indulged in a frozen smore!

(yes that is marshmallow on my mouth,

I actually did not realize that until now HAHA)

IMG_1296

The frozen marshmallow is a roasted marshmallow with ICE CREAM INSIDE!!!

AHHHHHHHH. This was the bomb.

I love you I love you I love you New York.

Panarea- Isole de Eolie, Italia ♡

IMG_0976

Sadly my trip to Italy is over but I am thankful to be able to look back at these beautiful pictures I took. During my trip to Italy I was able to visit two of the several islands in Isole de Eolie. My favorite by far was an island called Panarea.

IMG_0995

The buildings at Panarea were so beautiful and characteristic. I felt like I was in Santorini! This building behind me is a home…. isn’t it sooo dreamy?!

IMG_0996

The streets were very narrow. Believe it or not golf carts were able to pass by these tiny roads! They used the golf carts as taxis in Panarea which is something I have never seen before.

IMG_1006

The  buildings were white and with a few plants it  changed the atmosphere of every little street.

IMG_1008

I also was able to swim here. The water was so warm! Ahhh I want to go back!!

IMG_1036

This is me in my natural state enjoying a erba meditarranea granita (which had mint, finocchi (fennel), and lemon. I know it sounds kind of funky but it wasn’t guys it was soooooo good!

I can’t wait to go back!

I already miss you Panarea.

With so much love,

5 Important Etiquettes in the Yoga Studio ♡

Screen shot 2015-06-23 at 10.44.05 AM

Yoga is a journey and I learn something new every time I practice. I have been practicing yoga for about three years and am also a certified yoga instructor.  This summer I have had the great privilege of working at a studio in my hometown.  There are many important etiquettes in the studio but I wanted to point out 5 important points that I truly believe are vital in helping you and others in having a great experience in the studio.

1. Keep quiet in the yoga room- The second  an individual steps into a yoga room is when their practice begins.  You can use this time laying in savasana to meditate and even set your intentions for your class. Think about what you want to focus and improve on in your class whether it’s focusing on your alignment, balance, or breath. Keeping quiet is important to others that are embracing the quiet space. Even if you do not meditate or do not like keeping quiet please respect the yogis around you by doing so.

2. Respect the instructor- Remember yoga instructors are human. Sometimes people tend to forget that an instructor might make a mistake during a class and thats okay!! They are also on a learning journey. Embrace the perfections and imperfections of the class. Always remember to thank them at the end of your class. Instructors are there to help you on your yoga journey so if you have any questions never feel afraid to ask! Instructors love your encouragement and constructive criticism in a kind manner.

3. Clean up after yourself- Although you are there to focus on your practice make sure to always respect the studio by cleaning up after yourself. We want to keep the yoga studio clean to respect our yogi friends, instructors, and ourselves. We also wouldn’t want to attend a dirty studio so  remember to pick up after yourself.

4. Be Kind & Grateful To Others- Many times I notice that we tend to compare our level of practice to others. Which is normal to do but can turn into something very unhealthy. It can also hinder your growth in your practice. Different people have several reasons on why they  do yoga wether it is for fitness, spiritual, or health reasons.  Always respect where others are in their practice and where you are in your practice as well. Remember yoga is not a competition it is an individual  journey. Being able to practice yoga with others is a great way to grow and celebrate where each and every individual is in their practice.

“Have only love in your heart for others. The more you see the good in them, the more you will establish good in yourself.” -Paramahansa Yogananda

5. Be Kind & Grateful To Yourself- Most importantly be kind to yourself. Embrace where you are in your practice. Try to listen to your body and  accept where your strengths and weaknesses are. Love who you are and enjoy your yoga journey. Yoga is a practice so don’t be too hard on yourself but also try to find your edge in your practice. Always listen, look for improvement, and respect your well being.

“The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”  –T.K.V. Desikachar

Lets continue on our yogi journey! As the yoga studio I attend always says-

The light in me honors the light in you”

Lets honor the light in ourselves and others today.

What are some yoga etiquettes you feel are important to point out in the yoga studio?

I would love to hear from you.

with so much love,

Buddha’s Brew Kombucha ♡

11303570_967915216598010_1719762381_n

People think that being healthy means you have to make yourself eat and drink things that are not as tasty but that is definitely far from the truth. I know I used to think that way but  have explored and found products & recipes that are far better in taste and are doing great benefits for my health. For example my favorite Buddha’s Brew Kombucha.

Kombucha is a fermented beverage that carries bacterias and probiotics. I know you’re thinking bacteria??  Yes!!! but it is the bacteria that is good for you. (Not all bacterias are bad).

Kombucha Benefits- improves digestion, skin and hair, weight loss, increases energy, helps immune support, and detoxification. (These are few examples of many kombucha’s benefits)

11292792_967915266598005_682016397_n

I have tried most of Buddha’s Brews beverages and have loved every single one of them.

Buddha’s Brew first started selling their products at local Farmers Markets in Austin, TX and are now selling locally in Texas and outside of Texas in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

For more information about locations and on Buddha’s Brew check out their website here- http://www.buddhasbrew.com/

If you’re looking for a cool, fresh, delicious, and healthy beverage this summer definitely grab a Buddha’s Brew.

cheers to us for enjoying being healthy ♡

My favorite coconut water ♡

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

There are many different brands of coconut water that I have tried but C2O is by far my favorite brand of coconut water. It is the most natural and refreshing beverage that I have tasted. C2O is 100% natural, fat free, unsweetened, and contains a whole load of potassium!

IMG_0786

I bought one that contained pulp this time but for those of you who don’t like pulp don’t you worry they have pulp free as well 😉

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

its so yummy guys 🙂 coconut water is so good for you. It keeps you hydrated, helps your immune system, digestive system, and the list can go on and on!

They sell C2O at any Whole Foods store

You can also purchase them online- http://www.c2o-cocowater.com/
