I had the privilege of seeing an awesome neo soul trio from Los Angeles.
They are called Moonchild.
Moonchild started their trio as a horn section… Now they are a neo soul/jazz band. Amber Navran (the lead singer of the trio) has such a sweet soft voice which not only grabs the attention of any listener but the musicians that are supporting her are so amazing that their combination is the most mind blowing thing EVER!
You could really tell how humble and sweet each and every band member was. Which was awesome!! I feel so inspired and am so excited to see where their future takes them!
I can’t wait.
You can check them out here-
with so much love,
I had the opportunity to work with a Toronto based photographer that goes by the name of XmranX. His worked has been published by Elision Magazine and also runs a photography page called http://questionnoir.com with a few other photographers. Soon to be featuring publishing photographers, creative artists, etc.
XmranX usually likes to shoot with more of a dark mysterious type of aesthetic which makes his photography really unique compared to the average “photographer”
I loved that he was willing to try many different styles of pictures.
Working with XmranX really showed me that photography really is an art. I am so thankful I was able to work with such a talented artist.
Can’t wait to work with him again!

I arrived to NYC last night and have had a wonderful day in the big apple so far.
I finally got to go to the Butcher’s Daughter! A juice bar/ cafe that I have been wanting to go to for a while now…..mmm doesn’t the food look amazing?!
The Butcher’s Daughter is strictly vegetarian and non dairy.
Most of their items are vegan and gluten free!
My brother and I enjoying the delicious juices from the Butcher’s Daughter. I got the waterflower juice and my brother Andre got the yellow juice.
We later went to Dominque Ansel Bakery where I indulged in a frozen smore!
(yes that is marshmallow on my mouth,
I actually did not realize that until now HAHA)
The frozen marshmallow is a roasted marshmallow with ICE CREAM INSIDE!!!
AHHHHHHHH. This was the bomb.
I love you I love you I love you New York.

I got to visit the center of Quito!
This is where the president of Ecuador lives ^^
There is so much history located in one place.
We were able to visit two of many churches located in that area.
My favorite was a church called Iglesia De La Compania which is a church made out of gold. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take pictures of it… but let me tell you! It was so breathtaking to see. I have visited many catholic churches in Europe but it was so interesting to see the characteristic of a South American church.
We ate at this lovely restaurant called Disolopay! I was able to try traditional ecuadorian food.
In the photo above the food we ate was yuca with honey for appetizers
Ceviche with shrimp…. mmmmm it was amazing!!!
Mote, Maduro, Chicharron, Llapingacho and more!!
As you can see we ordered a lot of food!
It was delicious!!
We also had canelazo which is a traditional warm alcoholic beverage.,, it was amazing!!
I had a beautiful time, I love you QUITOOOOO
with so much love,
During my visit in Ecuador I had the privilege of visiting a town called Otavalo. Most of the people that live in Otavalo are the indigenous people of Ecuador. In this province there is a market that the indigenous Otavaleños sell there handmade products.
Everything sold in this market is handmade. It was so beautiful to see the detail and hard work they put into every product.
Seeing the indigenous people was very beautiful and so interesting to me.
This mask has many meanings to it… the top 12 little figures sticking out of the head represents the months in the year. The front part of the mask represents day and the back represents night!
Otavaleños are so creative!!
Visiting the Otavalo Market is something that I will never ever forget in my life. I saw many things that I have never seen before. From the indigenous people to the beautiful art that was sold in the market.
My mom recently started painting last year. Family, friends, and I noticed that she had a natural talent for art.
Her artwork has been featured in art shows and many people have bought and requested personal pieces from her. So she decided to start her own business. Which is already doing very well! It is really cool to see that she never focuses on the money or the business side of her art… she always focuses on her craft which is what a true artist should do. My mom always expresses that there is always room to grow and that she still has yet to learn.
It is great to see that people believe in my mom and that people believe in her art so much that they are willing to purchase her work and even display her artwork in an art show.
A few months ago my mom decided to submit three of her pieces into the Dutch Art Gallery Show. Which is a very difficult gallery to get into. Only the greatest artists in the Dallas area can get into this gallery and show.
Not only did she get in but all three of her pieces were accepted into the show! Which is such a big deal!! We were so excited for her.
It’s so beautiful and inspiring to see my mom going after her dream and using her talent! My mom has taught me that you can continue doing what you love at any age. To always work hard. To express your feelings and emotions through doing what you love. That there are no boundaries to what you want to do and learn in life.
If you are interested in some of my moms artwork you can view her instagram here- http://www.instagram.com/kaori.nappagallery
There will be a website made very soon.
So proud of you Mamma!
