As many of you know, I have been living in New York now for about 9-10 months now.
Although I do not feel like a New Yorker, I definitely have been finding cute restaurants, stores and cafes that I’d like to share with you all today. You will probably see me hanging out at some of these places 🙂 hehe
Devocion, is a Colombian cafe. They have a few locations but a really close friend of mine is a coffee educator at the Williamsburg location so I like to work here often. I find this cafe really nice to work in because of the natural light and the beautiful green plant is nice especially when you’re living in a city.
Since I work from home, I have the luxury of working in spaces like this during the day 🙂
You can also find me hanging out here with my friend Laura 😛
Come here for good coffee and friendly people ♡
Carthage Must Be Destroyed
Carthage Must Be Destroyed is an Australian brunch place located in a warehouse in Bushwick, Brooklyn. All their ingredients are organic and fresh. Not only is the food great here but the decor is amazing too. Especially if you like all things pink 😉
They have a rule where you can only take photos of your food and not of yourselves. Which I think is a great rule 😛 Taking photos are always fun but learning how to be aware and present in your environment is important too.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Shop
Van Leeuwen is a New York based artisan ice cream shop. They have classic and vegan flavors. If you’re ever walking around New York and you spot a Van Leeuwen’s do yourself a favor and get some ice cream… and if you’re feeling adventurous get the ice cream cookie 😛 They have yummy flavors like their early gray ice cream and if you’re going for a good dairy free flavor I really enjoyed their chocolate vegan ice cream. 😀 (Seriously, everything I have tried here so far has been great)
If you’re looking for an inexpensive studio to do some yoga in Brooklyn, Healhaus has a $20 new comer rate for one week of unlimited yoga. They also do meditation classes, workshops and have a wellness cafe. I came here one time and I really enjoyed the yoga class I took here.
Package Free Store
The Package Free store is a zero waste retail store selling products from stainless steel straws to bamboo tooth brushes to diva cups! My friend Laura introduced me to this shop. She is very conscious and aware of reducing waste and living more of a eco friendly lifestyle. I am learning a lot from her. I never realized how much we really do waste and use plastic in our daily lives. Even if it’s little steps (I am still learning too) we can make small steps into implementing an eco friendly lifestyle.
These are a few of my favorite places. I will definitely be updating and reposting this as I know I will keep discovering new places. Let me know if you’d like to see this version of places I enjoy going to in the city.
Thank you so much for reading. Hope you can discover and check out these places too!
Let me know if you have any suggestions of places I should check out 🙂
